Is it a bad idea to use magnetized screwdrivers inside the case? How about motorized screwdrivers? And I'm not talking about a screwdriver bit on a drill going into your motherboard - just a rechargeable around-the-house deal for things like securing drives to the case.

The subject of using a magnetic screw driver has been covered in another thread .
How ever the idea of using a motorized screw driver inside the case is In my opinion a Bad Idea
The most important reason is there habit of slipping and stripping the heads of the screws.
All those Very small metal fragments floating around inside of a case Will create nothing but hassles
There are just to many places a small sliver of metal can short out something.

I didn't think about the metal shavings, Rick. Point well taken.
Attempts to search the forums for the magnetized screwdriver thread return an internal server error. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/frown.gif Can someone point me there or tell me which forum I'd find it in?

Not sure on the other post, but the basic idea is this:
Magnetizum draws electrical current toward itself. This can cause ESD or weaken frequency signal.
Another thought is that the magnetics could pull the tip of the tool against something causing a short.
