Ok, so I got everything put in my pc. Hit the power switch and nothing... suprise suprise. Well anyway. I disconnected everything except the Motherboard and tried again... nothing. So I just popped it back open and hit the power button on the motherboard. I get the motherboard LEDs and the processor fan spins for a second then stops. I think it might be because my power supply is crap.

I have a MSI K9A2 Platinum Mobo and a AMD Phenom 9850 BE Processor. The power supply is a crap came-with-the-case 425W PSU.

Anyone have any idea? I don't think anything's connected wrong, but it just refuses to start.

P.S. if anyone has an extra PSU laying around i'll take it lol, i'm broke as hell.

What are the rest of your system specs?

Also make sure all of the cables are plugged in and are secure make sure you have the 24 pin and the 4 pin are in the MOBO. Also try a bare boot with just one RAM stick, VGA, CPU (and HS/F) and that's it see if it boots then

Ok running a:

K9A2 Platinum Mobo
Phenom 9850 Black Edition Processor
4 Gigs of Kingston HyperX DDR2 1066
Radeon 3870 OC VGA
but i'm booting it with an AMD Athlon 64 x2 4000 (so I can flash the Bios to run the Phenom)

320 Gb Seagate HD
Sony 20x DL Dvd/Cd-RW

And I just bought another power supply, BFG 650W with dual 12v rails. Hopefully that helps, if anyone can think of anything else that might be causing this please let me know.

clear the CMOS, I had this same exact problem because I somehow screwed with the CMOS on start-up. Then I pulled the little black cover off again to clear it and it worked.

It should be near one of those flat batteries you find in watches.
