Howdy guys, it's me again :p You may remember me from such threads as "Sudden Death."

Anyway, I am now running 4G of ram (4x1G sticks). I have 2 questions.

According to the ram specs on newegg's website, my ram timings should be 4-4-4-12, 2.1V, and CAS latency=4. These numbers mean nothing to me, really (except for the volts). When I look in my BIOS setup, it appears that they are running 5-5-5-17. Exactly what am I setting to 4-4-4-12?

Second, in my system properties, it says I'm running 2.75G of ram. Um, wtf? Is this because the timing defaults are incorrect?

Thanks again for help!

Hm... it looks like your memory is overclocked. What kind of RAM did you get? Is it overclocked by default? That seems odd.

I have the same issue with Windows XP. I can't figure it out either. I'm upgrading to 64 bit vista as soon as I can.

The memory amount is XP 32 bit thing...

Any 32 bit OS can only use 4 GB of RAM...XP just doesn't deal with anything over 3 GB very well. The good news is, unlike 9x, when you install more than it likes, it will still run and not crash.
