hi everyone,
i'm new to this and i don't really have a clue what i am doing.i've got a pc windows xp wich is connected to the internet via virgin broadband,my 2 children want to use their laptop and pc aswell.the laptop is windows vista and the pc is second hand running on windows 2000 but i dont have a network card in it.do i need to buy one?i really want to everything to be wireless.as im told this is best.please can someone help me,..

Welcome to the PC Guide forums.

I would suggest getting a wireless router, connect your PC with a wired connection (yes I would get a NIC card for your PC, less than US$15). Wireless adds convenience after it is set up properly but makes it more complicated to troubleshoot when it doesn't work.

omg its that easy,just like to say thankyou darling,im really thick with computers dont have any knowlege of them wha tso ever.lol.but thanks again appreciate your help.:)

my daughters pc is windows 2000 and doesnt have an etherned card init but some one told me if i was going to but a wireless card to put in the tower then i dont need to get a ethernet card.is this right?what would you suggest for the best pls

i do have a network card that is out of an old pc wich i kept but put it into the pc and it doesnt work why is this?its a realtek fa311 ethernetcard.none of this makes sence to me so please be patient,thanks and appreciate any help
