Right... this is a hard one. My other PC died a death yesterday. I removed it's ethernet card, put it back together etc. and then that was it. I can switch it on, fair enough. Then, whatever I do, be it enter the bios, allow it to boot, whatever, it *will* shut off. That is, it freezes... whatever graphics are on screen will remain, and if it's animated (flashing cursor, bar at the bottom of windows screen) the animation will continue. That's it though - the HD and all other activity ceases. I tried checking all the internal connections etc but nothing seems to help, and the *only* change I made was removing the ethernet card and the machine was working fine until then. Presumably in removing the card I damaged or worked something loose - does anybody have any suggestions as to what this could be? (btw I already tried default BIOS settings) (I'd give you details of my hardware but seing as it hasnn't changed in any way I fail to see how this could be a problem.
