Remove Programs from Dell Dimension 3000

I need to remove an antivirus program from my Dell Dimension 3000. When I click on the Remove programs button, it says the installation can't proceed because files are missing. Is there another way I can remove the rest of the security program so I can use my Yahoo Online Protection? Thanks.

Check the name of the program used.
if for example it is Nortons
Go to their web site and look for the manual removal process

It will ( In nortons case) give you detailed instructions on how to remove the program
