XP Pro vs Vista

guys,i have windows vista ultimate but the mozilla firefox browser always closed unexpectedly,which closed all my current works.not only that,i plan on plying some games while on XP btw.so i'm planning on going to XP but does XP has the future??until when??and will i get IE7,Windows Media Player 11 n all the latest stuffs by microsoft??btw if you guys suggest me to go with XP,which service pack do u guys suggest??

End of all support (no more old fixes)...??? (MS still has Win3.1 downloads available on their servers).

For 90+% of machines SP3 is good to go...but at least SP2 for XP.

And no, you won't get all the 'goodies' with XP...no DX10, no Aero and no to a few other things (I don't use IE or WMP so I don't know or really care...in Linux 99% of the time).

I haven't had any issues with Firefox crashing in Vista. Are you using a Beta version of FF?

If not try reinstalling FF.

i think i should stick with vista as i just also heard bout the timetable thingy somewhere.well i'll try to reinstall the FF once i got back home.i'm at college right now...

Were you running 2.0.0.13? That version had some Java crashing issues that were solved in the .14 version.

may be you can try to use mozilla 3.0 in vista.

i'm using the version version 3 right now...now it doesnt closed unexpectedly but it crashed n closed,then i would be prompted to send mozilla crash reportand it'll restart after i choose restore session.it didnt happen always tho..its better than the version 2 i was using..
