Forum members,
I noted on the spec sheet for the MSI K7T266 Pro2 under Special Features: Fuzzy Logic 3. I should I guess be impressed, but I haven't a clue what functionality this adds. Moreover, what a wonderful improvement Fuzzy Logic 3 might be over say - mere Fuzzy Logic 1.
Can anyone out there explicate fuzzy logic's virtues?

Andy,
Thanks for your response and the site.
Fuzzy Control:
"The most common example of a control model is the PID (proportional-integral-derivative) controller. This takes the output of the system and comparesit with the desired state of the system. It adjusts the input value basedon the difference between the two values ......"
I'm still confused. Can you (or anyone listening) relate this statement taken from the site to how this might function as a special feature of a computer motherboard?

Hmmmmm???
Don't know for sure, but how does this sound;
The measured output (for the sake of a number to make sense of this)is 100.
The desired output is 150.
The PID adjusts the input to allow the system to achieve the desired 150.
I would be very curious to hear a more experienced explanation of this.

From what I can tell "fuzzy logic 3" as offered by MSI is a utility for overclocking.
Here's a tidbit from a MSI newsrelease:
A smart automatic overclocking tool exclusively from MSI™, Fuzzy Logic™3 automatically adjusts the CPU to its best condition in real time under the OS to accomplish the overclocking function with AI. While system hanging is a common experience in overclocking, Fuzzy Logic™3 will detect the problem and automatically restart the system, making the system always run at its best.

From my MSI K7T Turbo 2 (Now in my system, BTW. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif )
"The Fuzzy Logic III utility allows users to overclock the CPU FSB frequency in the Windoz environment."
The GUI of this program displays things like the CPU fan and temp status, voltage readings, bus clock readings, etc.
I'm thinking this Fuzzy Logic is much like that SoftFSB I see talked about. It just lets you mess with the FSB from within Windas, rather than having to do it all in BIOS.
Apparently, this Fuzzy Logic thingy has a manual setup, where the user can adjust the settings him/her self, or an Auto setting, which supposedly adjusts the FSB based on some pre-defined parameters? Not sure about that one. Anyway, the worst that can happen is a reboot whereby the original settings are restored.
Cheers,
