Recently whenever I try to access emails in OE, the emails come up very quickly, but there is much slowness when I try to access any other topic or page in the email -- the page turns slightly whiteish and it takes longer than it used to, to access what I am trying to access..
I don't know if installing XP service pack 3 has caused this, but it started to happen after installing XP sp 3.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Clean and compact the folders...as a first step.

Thanks but could you pls advise how this is done..
I notice that recently I installed a program called CCleaner .. wondering if this could be the culprit?

Compact Your OE Folders (http://www.insideoe.com/files/maintain.htm#compact).

Don't think CCleaner is the cause. My OE was acting really slow once because i let the inbox build up way too big. I needed folders, folders and more folders. plus delete a lot of old emails.
Perhaps this is your problem. I'm actually not using OE anymore because i prefer Mozilla Thunderbird

You are correct..
I deleted many of my old incoming emails and some I transferred to the Draft folder. Many that were in my Sent folder I also transferred to my Draft folder. Now all of those folders are less than a page, and things have speeded up to normal..
Thanks guys.
