Networking equipment for online gaming is more limited by the Internet connection speed than any other factor, even a 100mbs network card will be about 100 times faster than the Internet connection. Also note that the connection speed will slow to the slowest connection speed of network devices on the LAN, you can have gigabit network cards with 100mbs router and the speed is maxed at 100mbs for LAN transfers and limited to your DSL speed on the Internet. That is for wired, wireless may be even less but still above the Internet speed.
A good router that can do QOS for gaming does help keep the connection as fast as possible, but no faster than the slowest component. That card will not make your gaming faster.

PrntRhd summed it up. There would be absolutely no benefit in online gaming between the cards. A 10 Mbps card would be more than enough for a DSL connection.

The only benefit to a 1Gb NIC is for transferring files inside your wired LAN. If you have one. In that case it would make a big difference if you tend to transfer a lot of files between the computers in your LAN.

Again, I can't stress enough: The speed of your networking card does not affect your internet connection.
