hey 4give me for being a complete lamer but ii had the same problem with regards to the siren noise and pc shutting down however i have noticed that this only happens whilst playing games, but i do use a power surge and my pc has never had problems before with this but then i have only recently started using a surge protector. Could the Surg protector have anything to do with this ?
thanks

Hello welcome tohttp://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif Forums!

It is proper forum protocol to begin a new thread if asking for help for oneself. If there is a thread that one believes is applicable, rather than piggybacking on to someone else's problem, provide a link to the thread...

I have broken your post off and begun a thread to address your specific problem.

Sirens are usually a warning that temperatures are getting critically high and your PC is about to shut down to save impending disaster. Usually you can save a document or whatever page you are on but I just shut down and clean out my cooling system ie, fans and vents, then see if there is anything else amiss such as dried up heatsink compound etc...
