I was removing extra programs for a computer and obviously went to far http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/frown.gif ,
now all that happen when it is turned on is a black screen with the words saying that windows 95 starting but nothing else happens http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/mad.gif . I can get the "c:" and "a" prompt and of coarse my black screen. The manual says totally empty the computer and reboot with the master...they forgot to tell me how to delete everything especially from my black screen with just a prompt. HELP http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

Welcome especiallycs,
Do NOT DO THE FOLLOWING which will remove everything from your hard disk Drive C: unless you are sure you have CDs for the following:
1. Drivers for your motherboard as well as any drivers for onboard sound and/or video if any.
2. Windows 95 operating System (NOT Upgrade.)
3. Drivers for installed graphics card.
4. Drivers for any other cards including: sound, modem, controller, network etc if any.
5. CD for your ISP internet connection.
6. CDs for any programs you have now and want to reload.
7. Knowledge of how to load all of above as well as open case and pull and install cards if necessary.
8. Understand that in addition to programs you will loose all files which you will not be able to recover if you don't have them backed-up on floppys or CDRWs.
At the A:> you can type "format C:" which again will remove everything from your hard drive.
This should be your absolute last recourse - you should wait for others to respond.

Hello especiallycs,
Welcome to http://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif Forums!
When you mentioned reboot using a "master" it sounds to me like you have a Dell, Compaq, HP, or something with proprietary software. Hang on with using the "master" disk until one of the folks can chime in here as to what procedure to follow. It could be the equivalent of a "recovery disk" which might wipe your HDD clean.
