Hi, i have a old PC that chokes when play 1280x720 h.264 videos, and some people told me that getting one of those ati 2600xt or 3560 will help. so i did a little research. A lot of other people said that 2600xt + will bottleneck with my PC and should just get a ati 1500 -1600 series since its a old pc. I also notice that ati 2000 series have hd acceleration that takes load off the cpu to play video smoothly on older machine. Please tell me what is the cheapest and reliable video card that can play 720p or even 1080p. I know ati has driver problems  . i have always been a ati user cause there cheap. not much of a gamer but i got CS:S and WoW <cant be play cause of crappy GPU.

my system
P4 2.60 northwood 130nm
GA-8S661FXM-F
1.5 Kingston value ram
Sparkle fsp300-60atv
razer sound card
9200SE 128 APG <needs to go
1 lg cdrw
1 floppy
2 ide hard drive 40gb,250gb

Thanks for the help

hm... the ONLY AGP card I would even TRY that with would be the HD3850. That's the only AGP card that MIGHT be able to do it.

WoW and CS will run amazing on it, though. :)

Well, you won't be able to play any HD video using a GPU that pulls less than 230W at load, so if you're serious about this you're going to have to upgrade your psu.
