Notebook Partition Problem

Save to disk partition is too small

Save to disk Feature is disabled run phdisk for information

File create new

PARTITION: consult manual
Hit key to exit

This is exectly what i get since i done a format to this notebook i must of done something wrong the notebook is in working condition with windows xp on but if when i trun the notebook i press tab the compaq logo goes then i find this massage up above.

please can some one guide me what i have done wrong and what are the right steps to do a good format to a notebook/laptop.

It looks like the system /restore partition is Required and was not created

In the past companies used the restore partition or a proprietary partition for the Bios setup and save

In many cases this partition is ONLY made by the companies restore or original installation disks

In a few cases the company will have the required program to make and setup this partition on line in their download section
Most likely under the bios or system setup area of drivers and programs

That system is a 2000 era system so It may still have it
