My computer keeps going into sleep mode, or maybe it's standby, or suspend, Hmmm.......I'm not really sure but it's anoying. I've gone into the Bios and my power managment is disabled. I've also gone into the control panel under power managment and have it set to say "always on" and then "never" and "never". I fiqure someone will know what I mean by this. Any ideas on how I can keep my computer awake.

reguards,
Mil

Try setting power schemes to (monitor) Never,(hard disks) Never,(system stand by)Never. In advanced No checks in either box. Then Stand By and stand by.In Hibernate support No check in box.

Under Power Schemes, I only have the options of Home/Office Desk, Portable/Laptop, and Always On On the Hard disk I have Never and on System Standby I have Never.I have taken the checks out of the two boxes in the Advance tab, but it still want's to go to sleep. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/eek.gif

Mil....

Which Mboard are you using? Do you have a manual for Mboard?

Some Mboards have 3 or 4 LAN jumpers that have to be dis-abled
to eliminate things from going into Standby Mode.

Luck.

I have the same problem. When I try to play some games mine goes into sleep mode. I can hear the game, but cannot see it.

blu02:

First of all, if you're seeking help, it would be a better idea to start a new thread in the appropriate forum telling us a little more about your system and problem than to dig up a thread that's a year and a half old in an archive forum and saying "gee, me too."

Secondly, it sounds more like the game is trying to play at a resolution and/or refresh rate that your graphics card and/or monitor are incapable of displaying than any sort of power management issue.

I'm not trying to sound harsh, welcome to the forums here at http://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif. Just start a new thread, maybe in the Gaming SIF forum or the Multimedia forum, tell us a little bit about your system and the game(s) you're having problems with, and we'll try to help you from there.
