I just have a few {that I do not know type of questions}
1. what is meant by Support for 1x/2x/4x AGP mode?? I realize what AGP is And What it does etc. 2. PCI Rev 2.2 compliant [ I know all about the PCI bus or extended arm of the CPU. 3. Parallel port {spp/epp/ecp support?

That is all for now but mega questions later when I start my A+ crses.

Just what it says, that the card { or mobo } supports the AGP data transfer rates of 1X, 2X, or 4X.
1X=133 MB's persec 2X=533 MB's per sec, 4X=1 GB's per sec [ roughly }

Once again just a new data transfer rate , old PCIstandards were based on 33 MHz { 32 bit wide ), 2.2 means a new speed of 66MHZ & 64 bit wide bus.


Parallel port {spp/epp/ecp support?}

And finally Ditto-the LPT1 port will support IEEE standards of Enhanced capabilities port( ECP ) { throughput of up to 12Mb's per sec ( roughly around 1.2 MB's per sec at it's best, comparable to USB ),or (Epp), etc..


I suggest you browse Charle's site ( the PCGuide ) as he pretty much explains all this in better detail; also get ahold of Mike Meyer's book-it'll help you pass the A+ cert if that's what your going for. plus it's a handy guide to have around.

Thank you fro your explaning. Yes I do believe your right, I have already ordered his book even before I ask these very novice questions.
I could have registered for the Crse. but they want enormous amt of money to take the Crse, each identity for A+ eg OS system and maintenance crse is 1k each. I thought if I order the proper materials etc. books and here on the pc guide, it would be a better teacher. Also I have access to old pc's that I will tear apart and build. Then pay for my exams .....
