Change Icon for Shortcuts??

Several new applicaitons, including MS Word & QuatroPro do not allow chainging the Icon for the shortcut on either the Desk Top or the Quick Launch Tool Bar.

For years, I have changed Icons when the one originally provided did not have enough contrast with the background or was easily confused with the icon for another shortcut.

When I click on Properties for the shortcut, the Find target and Change Icon Buttons are there but not functional.

I suspect that there is some scenario which will result in those buttons being functional.

Any ideas?

Make your own shortcut by going to wherever winword.exe has been installed. RClick on it and choose Send To Desktop (create shortcut).

The custom links created by Office are not "normal" shortcuts.
