New setup on my server computer.

Setup with Win XP Pro w/SP2.
EXACT same computer name, and administrator password as before.

RDS from another box now INSISTS that the password is wrong, even though I KNOW it is right.

See this thread - I have had this problem before:

http://www.pcguide.com/vb/showthread.php?t=62066

Having changed the logon to Admin, Administrator, admin, administrator - all with the correct password, the remote machine DOES RESPOND, but only to tell me that the password is wrong, when I know that it is correct - I can connect a keyboard, mouse & monitor, boot up, and use the EXACT SAME PASSWORD, and the system logs me on just fine.

Under MY COMPUTER/PROPERTIES/REMOTE, there is a tick in ALLOW USERS TO CONNECT REMOTELY TO THIS COMPUTER.

What the hell is going on?!??!!!????

ATTENTION!

Looks like I might have managed to TOTALLY CONFUSE MYSELF, which would not be a first for me...
;)

The Administrator name I made during install was Borris.
I thought that you would just enter Admin as in the other thread, or perhaps Administrator, but I need to enter Borris, as the Borris username has Administrator permissions...

*sigh*

Life should not be this difficult.
:p

Anyhoo, the system logs me in remotely using Borris as my username.

Sorry for the panic-attack.
Perhaps the Mods could delete this thread...
