Have an Intel D865PERL MoBo with four memory slots. There are (2) 256 memory modules installed at this time and I just purchased (512) modules to increase the memory. The (2) 256 modules at this time are in slots 1 and 3 but I don't know in what order to install the new 512's Do I need to put the 512's in slot one and three and move the (2) 256 modules to slots 3 and 4 ? Thanks for any all suggestions.
Go here D865PERL Manual (http://download.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/d865perl/rl_English.pdf) and open it to page 34
It shows the memory layout as Channel A and Channel B with Dimm 0 and 1
Channel a-0 and B-0 same memory
Channel A1 and Channel B1 the same
about the same as slot 1,2,3,and 4
1 and 3 being the same and 2 / 4 being the same
Place the slowest in 1 and 3

Wow Rick digs things up pretty quick. Nice job! If that can not help survivor, I don't know what will. :) :p
