hey,

first off i know you are not doing much gaming but having a slightly better graphics card will improve your system dramatically (in vista) and also its nice to have an option to be able to play some game even if they are not all on full so i think your should get this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130332

i also would either get a E8400 or a Q6600 CPU i sway towards the Q6600 due to quad cores are great on media rigs and for PS

that MOBO is dated now go with a P45 MOBO you will be impressed ;) also make sure you get a DDr2 model

The rest is fine.

What size monitors do you plan on hooking up?

Im trying to keep the rig on a budget and its mainly a work related computer and i will be hooking up two 22 inch monitors to it because multi tasking is a must hence the 4 gb of RAM.. do you have any suggestions as too which cheaper alternatives to the current things i have?

o ok that makes sense then,

well you cant go much lower without seriously effecting performance.

you can do away with the CPU cooler the CPU you bought comes with its own CPU fan and heatsink.

Also if you go to a P35 MOBO you will save a small amount.

get this PSU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139003 its cheaper just as reliable and 650w for that system is overkill

maybe getting some cheaper RAM (but its not as good as corsair)

but apart from that, thats all you can really do

not really sure what you mean by a P35 motherboard could i have a link..

ok sorry

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131275

the "P35" or "P45" or "650i" are just different names for the northbridge the MOBO uses

Also Note
the ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 64 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler
is NOT compatible with a 775 mother board

IF You follow the link Asus P5K (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131275) and use a 3rd party Tower CPU cooler
You will also want / need to find and install a chipset fan ( it's not included) in the Asus mother board accessories .

If you are looking for quiet, then yes, replace the stock cooler...

Your Mother board uses passive cooling for the Chipset. Both north and south bridge

If you want something more
For a Good chipset cooler and still fit into the Silent range
Go with one of the heatpipe units..

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=40000572+1374126194&Description=chipset+fan&name=South+and+North+Bridge+chips

I Happen to Prefer Thermalright But most any brand will work
Some of the Thermalright units Do Not require a small fan, Just good airflow

Which one of these would be the best choice for my motherboard?

Thermalright HR-05-SLI Copper Heatsinks only (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835109131)

Both those coolers are Good

The HR-05-SLI is desinged for another board
One that supports SLI ( Dual video cards) and is not needed for you system

The HR-05 will fit But may be more than you need.
It will keep things cool and the passive cooling is very good.
It also support a fan if you like
With the slowest and quietest fan would be a very good combo

Here is a detailed link to it and the install
