An idle curiosity question of no practical value.

I have been running DOS 6.22/Win3.11 on a multi OS system.

It just occurred to me that my Optical TrackBall & Optical Mouse are installed on USB ports, which did not exist in the DOS 6.22 era. Windows 3.11 recognizes these devices.

What is DOS using for Mouse Drivers? Do USB Ports look like serial Ports to DOS? Does the BIOS of a modern motherboard have some default drivers built in?

To dos the modem mother board looks and acts like an ISA mother board.
If your usb is working they be seen by win311 as ps/2 ports.
Check your bios for USB legacy support =enabled
