The Q6600 is a great processor, but it's a bit dated now. Quad core has gone 45nm, so you might be better off with the Q9450.

Crucial = good :)

680i sli? Have it, love it.

8800 GTS? Is that the old G80 version (320 mb, 640 mb?) or the new G90 version? (512 mb, 1 GB?) There is a pretty huge difference, and if it's the G80 model... ditch it!

The Q6600 is old news! 65nm has come and gone for Intel! You need a Q9xxx or an E8xxx these days.

Also, isn't the 680i a bit old, too? The 780i and 790i are out, right?

ouch! someone got told ;)

If you dont have a large budget a E8400 is great but of you can stretch to a Q9450 you will not regret it,

to be perfectly honest i would recommend a P35/45 or a X48 chipset (depending on budget) because they have better support for higher DDr2 clock speeds and they support crossfire and ATI have some damn good powerful yet cheap cards out at the moment
