pc hangs on BIOS logo,Bootscreen and Welcome screen

HI!:)
M new to this website;)
Problem :-
Long story:)
1-2 months ago my pc was working fine. But my frnd gave me windows vista Ultimate. I also wanted to xperience vista ultimate form a long time so i installed it:).
I realized that its not good for me(after using 7-8 days:confused: ).So i again installed xp(formated only c: ).
Now the main problem,
when i start my pc it hangs at the bios logo screen,i restart (as it forces me to do so:()the pc and it starts fine now when i turn it off and again start it after sometime(1-2hr),it hangs either on bios or boot screen :confused: .
Similarly it hangs on welcome screen also:(.
i tried to remove the RAM sticks and reinsert them.
i tried to reset my CMOS.
but nothing happend its just same:confused: .
May be some problem with my gfx card as i tried to run with my default inbuilt gfx.and it worked fine with that.but with my geforce gfx card it again hangs.:(

But my Gfx card is just 1-2 months old.

Intel Pentium D 2.66 Ghz
Ram:- 1.25 GB
Nvidia xfx geforce 6800XT 256 MB DDR3 (AGP 8X)

it seems like you answered the question yourself in your post there.
it's your GFX card, it is probably faulty.
If it is only 1-2 months old, that means its still in warranty, and nVidia will send you a new replacement.

but if its faulty than it should not even work (i think :))

not true.
bad RAM will start a system, but will it boot the OS? no.
its still bad.
it might start to work in the beginning, but in the end fails.
so, with that, it's faulty.
