What I can find about your notebook indicates that it offers a 15-pin D-sub VGA connector and an S-video connector, but not a DVI output. Does your television have a 15-pin computer input? To the best of my knowledge S-video only supports about 480 useful vertical lines of resolution. While S-video quality is better than composite video because it carries color and brightness as two signals instead of one, you're not going to see much of a difference considering how many fewer lines of resolution are available compared to your noteboook's display.

The end result is that you're going to be extremely disappointed if you try to use your tv as your main computer monitor. I find that the quality of movies and games coming through the S-video cable when using my television as a second display are completely tolerable, but text is just headache-inducing when displayed from any PC apps.

If your Vizio doesn't have a VGA input your options are going to be very limited and the final product will absolutely NOT be HDTV quality. You're not going to get those quality levels without a direct, native VGA connection, component video, or an HDMI input - which you would be able to utilize with DVI output on your notebook.

Having said this, I think an S-Video cable and being prepared to be underwhelmed are your best bets. I just got my first "big-boy tv," so I am speaking from disappointed experience.
