Hi folks. I found in the web the recent introduction by ATI of the GDDR5 PCI Express video cards 4870 series. Nvidia plans to stay away from GDDR5 for now, lauching the X200 series with a GDDR3 Memory but with 512 bits. ATI will use 256 bits. On the other hand, the clock speed are different: ATI = 750Mhz vs Nvidia = ~600 Mhz.

Can someone advise about the best choice?

Thanks. :)

So you are comparing the HD 4870 with the GTX 280?

All you need to know is,

-The GTX 280 is better
-The 4870 is better bang for buck

The reason the GTX 280 is better because it has so much raw GPU power
