I'm at work and will be thinking about this all day untill I can get home to work on it. Was wondering if anyone can steer me in a direction. I'm thinking it is something simple and I'm just over looking it.

I just assembled a Abit KR7A-Raid board and the floppy will not work.
I'm sure I have the CMOS correct. I've but my old 3.5 in and still same result. Put old ribon in no change.

The system sees the drive and the light in the drive stays on but will not show any signs of access.

Thanks

Sorry .. I was reading on down in the forum and see I did not put this into the proper area. There was another post about the same problem and the reply was the cable might be turned around. I thought of this and the cables only fit one way.
Thanks,
TeeCee

If the A: Drive light is on all the time.
Thats a sure sign that the Cable is hooked up wrong.
Pin1 to Pin1 needs to be correct.

Unplug the cable and flip it over and plug it back in.

Yeah, what Rick said. It doesn't look like it plugs in that way, but it does. Kinda push up as you're plugging in.

It was turned around ... I always thought the red strip went towards the power plug. This one went the other way and I didn't notice the 'notch' cut out in the drive on the topside.

Also read on another board (introduced to me from here .. thx lead me to a great site on my MoBo) that ABIT was known for sending out floppy ribbons with the end turned around. Never heard of such a thing .. But maybe so.
