Is there an easy way to remove all aol software? I do use AOL to log on but am using cable as my provider. I would like to keep the log on and my email addresses since they are the only two that I use of AOL.I am a little leary of just going to add remove and get rid of it that way as I am nit sure if I will lose my sign on and email functions.I am using Windows XP Pro.Thanks
POP3 or webaccess for the email?

You can use the Add/Remove Programs to uninstall the AOL client software. Just go to www.aol.com site using IE and you can log on for the email there. I also hope you are not paying subscription fees, you can keep the existing accounts open for free these days.
Unfortunately the install of AOL software does change certain security settings in your PC for IE, uninstalling the client software won't change the settings back to original.

If I go to Add/Remove I think that will remove all of the AOL software.I am afraid that I will lose the AOL icon on my desktop also. When I power on the first screen shows the all icons including AOL icon.I then click the AOL icon which brings up the screen names and passwords.I then just click one of the screen names which gets me to the internet and my AOL mail.I know I can get to the net via IE 6 also but then I have to go to my AOL screen again and retype screen name and password just to get my mail.I know it is a few more steps that way but not sure if it is worth the time.I have no idea how much AOL software I have on this computer.I am not paying for any AOL service. Thanks

If you create a shortcut to the AOL web login screen on the desktop and then save the settings when you log on it should become a one step process to log on to AOL using Internet Explorer (or other browser of your choice).
To create the shortcut just go to the AOL log on page and drag the icon on the left of the address bar onto the desktop. Now when you want to start up your emails etc just double-click on the new icon.

I have at least five threads that I no longer need info on and would either like to lock them or remove them.I don't know what you mean by which post numbers.
Sorry...there is no need to lock or remove threads/posts. If they are finished, so be it.
