1)Is anything actually "recorded" when a restore point is created in XP, or does it record changes made after that point?
2)If the latter, and if you have multiple restore points, does one restore point's recording end when another is created or are changes recorded redundantly?
3)What is recorded - registry, dll's, all file changes?
4)And, maybe most importantly, does having multiple restore points or very old restore points slow your system down?

Thanks in advance. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

Tackle the last first...yes old restore points can slow you down, because they are actually taking up space on your drive, the fuller the drive the slower it can be...

What is recorderd...at least registry and some other stuff (not quite sure on the exact items other than the registry)

Here (http://www.dummies.com/windowsxp/andyscolumn021802.html) is an article about it....another one here (http://www.utexas.edu/computer/xp/system_tools.html)
