I have recently started using an AT&T 881U air card for my internet connection at my home. I've identified two towers in my zip area but other than assuming closer is better (and even this may not be right) I have no idea how the tower info can be useful to me and would appreciate some direction. The AT& T map indicates I am in a 3G area but this does not seem to be the case as I have edge connection (best connection as 60% signal strength.
Once I gain a better understanding of things I hope to increase the signal strength thru an antennae/amplifier and so any info in this regard would also be helpful.
As I am sure it is obvious, I am totally new to wireless world and would appreciate any explanations or tutorial links that may be helpful.
