Unless the light pen and interface are designed for an LCD display, I'd say no. Light pens I have seen are designed to work with the raster scan of a CRT.

This link (http://www.verdictsystems.com/library/hardware/lightpens.htm) says: "Note 2: You CAN NOT use a light pen with a laptop (LCD) or flat panel monitor. If you want to use the light pen capabilities of this unit you need to have an additional monitor (CRT) connected to your laptop."

How a CRT works (http://www.montest.com/mon-app1.html)

Unless the computer/PDA has an interface designed for a light pen, for use on an LCD display, I still say no.
