Can someone please tell me why the Deleted Items icon in Microsoft Outlook is showing stuff in it, but when I open the folder, it is empty?

sounds like you have a deleted folder in there. Is there a + by deleted items? if so click this and if any folders there delete.

I have this problem with the Recycle Bin. At the moment it is showing empty, but when I open it up and then click on file, and then tell it to empty the recycle bin it ask if I am sure I want to delete these 47 items. This number is slowly rising, but not in relation to what is put into the RB and deleted.. (the same prob is there in Win98 with different number - I assumed it was somethng to with dual boot and 3 partitions)

ernie.
the recycle bin problem came up a while ago, and was unresolved, I think it may be something left over from temp files which are produced when windows is working in the background & have not been completely deleted,
sometimes it 'shows' full when empty, usually I copy a desktop item & delete it, then empty r c, which clears it.
