Heya, Fellas. :)

I am looking for OS books (preferably free online- books, and by that the greens in my pockets and the greens of the trees...;) ) for self study that has both theory and practice just as the books in my previous life in college. For instance, a book that explain (to say) Windows 95/98 and at the end of each chapter/section, pose problems in order to learn by practice.

Thanks.:D

I would like to suggest you to refer Little Windows 95 Book by Nelson, Kay Yarborough, hope this could help you to gain knowledge better.

the greens in my pockets and the greens of the trees

Technically, they don't use the green parts to make books :). That part is saved for KFC's coleslaw ever since global inflation hit cabbage futures prices on the CME.
