Hi everyone,
I have a question about firewall router. I have a router for our T1 access, but I want to add a netgear FR314. I am confusse on how to use the address. The router with the T1 has the same address that the FR314 router. Does anyone knows about router that can help me out.!
Thanks

I'm not sure what your trying to do. Are you replacing one router with another or subnetting your network? What interfaces on the routers have the same address?
It might help if you post back a few more details http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

Are you talking about the IP address of the router that you type in to the address bar to access the set up program? If so you need to change the IP address of the installed router from its present address to a different one before you install the new one. The IP address of my router is 192.168.1.1 on the first page of the set up program I can change this to any address from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.255 I suggest changing it to 192.168.1.2 (if you are using DHCP or this IP is not a static IP assigned to a client PC) it is just like assigning a static IP address to a client PC. When you install the second router leave it at the default IP address. Just curious why you would need two routers when one will route 254 PCs or more. If you are going to have 2 routers in your network on the same subnet do not use DHCP because they can (and will) assign the same IP to more than one client PC and you will need to assign the second router a static IP address in the set up on the first router. If your network is large enough to need two routers I suggest hiring an IT professional to set this up because they will need to be on different subnets with a network bridge installed. If you just want to add more client PCs to your network get a hub not another router.
(Two routers on the same subnet can only route 253 clients because you still only have 255 IP addresses and you now need two IPs for routers instead of one. In other words you have nothing to gain but headaches by adding another router).
