According to the manual of my IBM PII (K6/266MHz, model 2137-E71) I should be able to install a maximum of only 64 Mb of RAM memory: two 32 Mb models. I was amazed to read this, because the 486 I had before could hold up to 128 Mb. At the bottom of the manual's table with the possible module combinations there is however one phrase that suggests otherwise:
"Please note that for any system memory OVER 64 Mb no caching is possible"
What does this mean:
- can I install more memory?
- if I do, what will be the consequence, in terms of performance, of having no cache for it?
