There is a function in MSCONFIG in Win ME on the general tab which allows you to limit the memory.
Why is it there?
What should it be set to - total mem available or some lesser value?

Thanks http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif

Unless you are running more than 512MB, leave unchecked or set to available, or whatever the default value is....no need to limit the memory under normal circumstances.

well how much memory do you have in it, seems ME does not run well over 512 any thing under that is fine i run me and i have a stick of 128 and a stick of 256 = 384 and it registers 368 figure the rest is going to vidio no matter what you set it to in me it will just allot it where it wants to.You don't have much control with mem. usage in W/Me.

I duel-boot Win ME and XP and have more than 512MB of RAM installed (768MB) and Win ME doesn't run well with more than 512MB installed but Win XP does run well so I need to limit the amount of RAM ME uses so they will both run well.
