Hi this is my story... One bad day I had decided to clean the dust off my latop which I usually remove with my hands or if sticky hands would use my sleeves, but this one day I had a household cleaner nearby called spic and span and looking at the layers of dust on sight I could not resist but to use it, I figured this is going to leave my laptop spic and span and bacteria free so i went ahead and aiming right on top of the screen I started shooting at it like an angry Rambo swinging the gun sideways...to make a story short my screen now has a bunch of bright shiny spots that make your screen look like it is burning or on fire.... My question is ....is it possible to replace the glass of the laptop screen or is it too much trouble and also will the manufacturer take the cost under laptops warranty...
Thanx for your inputs

Umm...what you did was most likely remove some of the anti-glare coating off of the screen. You can, with a little work, remove all of it, but it will probably not be very 'pretty' when you are done...

You could also have an entirely new screen installed...not cheap.

And, no, it will not be covered under warranty.

I agree with mjc that replacement is the only permanent solution.

You might try one thing though just to see if it helps, get a plastic polish like Brillianize (Tap Plastics carries this), and see if it makes the display more usable. About $8 retail. You will have to use this forever since it is only a temporary solution.

And yes, I know it is not on the recommended list for screens but Spic & Span certainly wasn't either.
