I have an Inspiron 700m that's about 3 years old. Recently, it's been making a rough noise you would hear from a coke can. I think the fan could be the problem, grinding on something, but I'm probably wrong. Help?

Fan or hard drive...

Is the hard drive easily removable? If it is, pop it out and use a bootable CD to boot from. If it still makes noise, then it is likely the fan.
