Hi friends. I have a new issue with my compy. Today, i installed a new video card. The installation went fine. The problem came when i ran a video test for a game i wanted to play, when i clicked "run test", my computer just shut down. It wouldnt turn on for about ten minutes. It restarted fine and ran for another fifteen minutes. It suddenly shut off again. I didnt know what happened. I let it sit for a while and then restarted it. Im not sure what the probelm was, at first i thought it was a power supply related problem, now im not so sure. I also had a theory that it could just be over-heating, in that case i should probably clean its inards.

Anybody have advice on how i can diagnose the problem with out dismantling my baby?

You can run a program like PC Wizard (found here (http://www.cpuid.com/pcwizard.php). You can set that up so it displays the tempurature on the computer with just characters at the top of the screen. It will also talk about the voltages the computer is using as well. If you just keep an eye on the temp, it may be a clear indication if it is heat or some other problem. Also, do you hear fans running in your computer?

I can hear the fans running. I can also feel the air coming from them. I know they are on.

Heat, or an underpowered or going bad power supply.

What video card and what model power supply?
