With my laptop connected to a pc with a CDRW drive, is it possible to send information from my laptop to the CDRW on the other pc.
Would i have to set up my laptop as the guest or the host..i have no experience of networking so exuse my inexperience.
thanks in advance

You don't mention what OS's you're using but if the laptop can see the cdrw it should work. In win9x you need file sharing on the cdrw drive, for 2000 or XP you need to set up rights as administrator. If it won't go straight to the cdrw you can try moving files to the pc's hard drive first.

If you are trying to burn directly from the laptop then I imagine that it would need to be the host and have the CD=burning software installed on it. The guest CDRW would need to be setup as shared but I don't know if the software would be able to detect the path to it - unless it could be mapped somehow. Since burning doesn't like any interuptions - this would be the most unstable way to go.
Surely easier to use the desktop as host and have the relevant drives/folders set as shared on the laptop and just copy them to the desktop HDD first; then burn away as normal on the desktop.

Thanks peeps, the os is win98, and i think your right in saying that move the files to the desktop through DC, then burn them on the CDR.....!
Thanks again
