Problem with wireless USB network adapter

I have a Siemens SL2-141 router and I have a problem with one of the computers connected to it via wireless.
It has an Edimax wireless USB network adapter, and everything works fine, until you connect a storage device to another USB port, at which point the wireless adapter stops working.

Any ideas?

Have you tried connecting a powered hub to the machine in question and then attaching the storage device?

Some machines just don't supply enough power to the USB ports (yeah, they are out of spec), so adding more than one or two things that require 'bus' power causes all sorts of problems.

Sounds like a good idea to try. I was thinking more along the lines of replacing the computer... :)
