Comcast came today and set up my internet, phones, and cable. While the guy was here, I handed him my Linksys WRT54G wireless router. He plugged it in and it worked great. I then connected my laptop to the wireless network... still worked. I left and returned a couple hours later to see:
"Signal Strength: Excellent"
"Status: Limited or no connectivity"

Now I can't connect my laptop anymore and have to connect my PC directly to one of the ports in the router to get internet access.

When I "ipconfig /all" in cmd I get a autoconfig IP "169.254.216.154"
However, when I access my router, in the "status" tab my IP is "24.10.238.248"

Any help would be appreciated. If you need more info, let me know!
Thanks in advance!

XP SP3, Yes I have rebooted both to no avail. I even reset modem and still no luck. I don't think I am being assigned an IP. Not sure how to be sure or how to fix if that is the case

Looks as if DHCP is not enabled on the router or that you are not communicating with the router. The IP address from the Router is a Comcast one and not your LAN at all. The PC's current IP address looks like one that it has assigned to itself (automatically) in lieu of getting one from the router.

Is this a wired or wireless connection and are any firewalls functioning?
