So I was looking thru the games at good wally world, and seen CS:S for 19.99 and thought "Hmm, maybe I should pick that up." after much deliberation, I decided not to go for it just at that minute. I went home and got on fileplanet to see what free online FPS' they had and seen warrock, bleh I had that before and it was too glitched, and had the retarded rolling around ability, plus it was too easy to hack and everyone under the son seemed to do so. (I don't just scream hack either, i'm talkin about seeing people floating 50+ feet in mid air far above any buildings, one shotting people IN buildings, etc..) Then I seen Combat Arms, thought, it is still nexon, but maybe they fixed stuff. Downloaded and tried it, so far it's been great, pretty much the same as CS:S from what I can tell other than graphics style, and the weapon unlocking/buying system is different. You have to "Rent" guns on the game but that's ok cuz they aren't expensive, and you earn in-game "Cash" as you rank up. Anyway I thought I would get a 2nd opinion, should I still get cs:s?

$20 is pretty cheap for a game that has spawned so many mods and LAN games! The value you can get from it is truly immeasurable due to the community!

Then again, $20 is $20! Not so easy a sum for everybody. And the addition of the community only represents the value that you CAN get from the game, not what you WILL get. If you're just not into the mods that much, it's a moot point.

The value of any game is always relative to the gamer. I think you should do some research into the CS:S community to see if dropping $20 on the game is a good idea for you. It's a great price for the game in general, but if you don't play it... Games need to be fun to justify their existence.
