I know these are probably trivial questions to some experts.. but.. Ok.. I know nothing about computers http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/frown.gif
(I got these questions for my hw, and stupid textbook, as usual, the answers are not in the textbook)

1) What are fixed system resources?
2) What are legacy devices?
3) Name several types of legacy devices that need to be configured.
4) What is controller cascading?
15) Discuss the possibility of sharing IRQs, DMAs and I/O addresses.

Any question that is answered is greatly appreciated. I'm sorry if the topic is in the wrong forum or the answers are in this site. (I have looked over the site for the answers. And by the way thanks so much to the author, I was able to find answers to MANY of the questions of my homework)

Nevermind question number 15. I overlooked the section that explained IRQ, DMA and I/O address conflicts.

Hello TechStudent and welcome,
We are not in the practice of giving answers to homework questions.
We provide assistance to those who are troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading their systems.
For those who are studying in the tech field, we try to give as much direction as we can on the subjects asked.

Two excellent resources for you to look at are Google (http://www.google.com) and Mike Meyers A+ study guide.

A lesson learned is far more valuable then an answer handed and the amount of info to be read for these questions would be way to much to paste in here.

Good luck http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/cool.gif
