Hello,

I have *Symantec Firewall* and *AVG 6.0 AV system* installed.

I ran *Symantec Security Check* online today.

NetBIOS Availability, Active Trojan Horse, Browser Privacy
scans came out all *safe/stealth for ports*.

I have a few questions about rest of the results below, please.

Q1. Network Vulnerability ---> result (NetBIOS 139, closed)

It is not open but should I do something about it?
I want to be as invisible as possible for hackers.

Q2. Antivirus Product ---> result (At lisk)
Antivirus Definition ---> result (the scan did not run)

Is it because I use AVG and this scan doesn't detect it?
Virus definitin files were latest ones at the time of scanning.

Q3. Does this test produce accurate results overall?

Thank you very much. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

Hi beginner33! I think I know the problem. I use Norton SystemWorks with Norton Personal Firewall 2001 and Norton Antivirus 2001. Every time I used "Symantec Security Check" to "check out" my system it came back with a perfect report. However, when Norton Antivirus 2002 came out then the Symantec Security Check would report that I was "at risk" although it did also report that all the virus definitions were up to date. I do not know if there is any significant difference between 2001 and 2002 versions. I personally think that it is just a matter of crass commercialism. They want to sell me the new version. Go to www.pcpitstop.com (http://www.pcpitstop.com) and run your security check there. Mine comes out perfect.

Hmmmm,
According to “Shields-UP” my computer doesn’t exist, on any of 12 tests. I guess that’s a good thing http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Leak Test also failed http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif

I guess that’s what you get for runnin her with the doors welded shut http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/eek.gif http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Hello,

Thank you very much for all of your apply!!!

I have a lot to read and absorb now http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif.

The reason I did the test was...
I get *Backdoor SubSeven* attempts almost everyday.
It's like someone is stalking me...

That made me think something about my PC is appealing to hackers??
Any suggestion to stop this?

Other tests came out same as Symantec (good except 113 & 139 closed)

I'll post again when I come cross more questions.

Thank you!
