I have 2 unused computers on my network that are 99% of the time idle. And sadly they have faster processors than my primary box (1.4ghz and 1.7ghz.)
I was just wondering if there is any kind of software that would let me benefit from my idle network processors.
Like the one 3d studio max has. You run the service on the client machines, and they help the server machine render the scene.
Thanks in advance for the help..

I hope this helps you out.

I am still looking for software to help you out. But I have not come up with anything interesting yet.

Until then, Good luck.

Thanks for the help trek.
The link is a little too technical I think http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

I found couple of thing in the meantime. Some people helped me out in other forums, the thing that I refered as "sharing" is actually called a "Beowulf Cluster" and in order to use it you need to have Linux.
In addition, it is a very complicated thing, they use it in large networks where they have 100's of computers. Similar to parallel processing but with separate computers.

Thanks again for trying to help, but I'm not hoping to find anything else since this seems to be a fairly complicated and advanced thing.
