Hello everyone, I'm having a hell of a time with a Fan problem right now.
I recently installed an Asus M3A mobo, a AMD Athlon 64 x2 5400+ processor, GeForce 8400 vid card, and Freezer 64 Pro PWM fan for the CPU.
Now, originally I was using my old mobo fan for the CPU, in which case I was able to boot up Windows XP 3 times before things locked down and it refused to boot completely into Windows XP. After that, I opened up the case again and proceeded to check all the connections. When restarting the computer, the CPU fan blew out.
So, I ordered the new fan without too much complaint - it was an old fan and I didn't think anything about the motor finally going bad. However, after installing the new fan today, I'm beginning to question my luck. The fan doesn't spin up. I can, however, boot into windows again.
I've really no idea what the problem is. Any suggestions you can give are greatly appreciated.
