Well, I wasn't sure if I was the only one experiencing this problem. When I first tried playing Stalker Clear Sky, I went to hit ESC button to change the settings and it just crashed right to the desktop. So I loaded it back up and got a little further, (ended up dying) I went to hit the space bar (like it tells you to) and it crashed again to the desktop. Just curious if anyone else has experienced this?

Unfortunately, crashes to the desktop are an all too common problem for most people. Fortunately, issues with games like this are 99% likely to be driver-related.
Updating your drivers, and maybe even DirectX itself, almost always clears up these little mishaps.

Well, I play a lot of games on my computer, but for some odd reason it seems like the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games do it the most (and quite to often). So you think updating my graphics card drivers should do the trick?
Yes and looking for any patches for the specific game...

So you think updating my graphics card drivers should do the trick?Drivers. Plural. You have more devices than just your graphics card! :p
Chipset drivers, graphics driver, audio driver, DirectX. Update them.

Yeah, planned on it. I know there is a patch out for the game. Dumb question: after downloading a patch, do I need to "apply" it to the game, or does it automatically do it?
99.99% of single player mode games have to have the patch 'run' or applied. Some, but not all multiplayer games will apply patches when you connect to the server...

If the game has a menu option or tool for retrieving patch data and installing it, then you don't need to do anything more. If you merely download an executable/installable patch file, then you need to run that file.
Either way, reboot for good measure before you play again.

Well, I was able to find a patch and apply it to the game. I also updated my graphics card drivers to the latest one. Unfortunately, it didn't fix the problem.
