POST code 04

Hey guys, I built this computer about 2 years ago and I have this problem. I have a amd processor with a abit an8 mobo and 2gigs of OCZ ram at 3-3-3-8.

I recently turned it on and started browsing when the screen went blank like the card wasnt detecting a monitor.

I restarted multiple times with no luck. So i took it apart and reset bios/cmos. jumped the wires and took out the little battery. No deal, didn't fix it.

All it would do was turn on and get stuck on post 04 with a black screen.
So I took out my ram and cpu and made sure there was no problems, all okay.

Tried it and nothing. Then I jumped the ram from dimm 1&3 to 2&4. nothing.
then I took one out (dimm3) and left one in slot one. took out my little battery, waited 10 minute, put it back in and it works.

Great, it works but why does it only work with one slot of ram in it? I double checked and i can only have it in dimm slot1.

any ideas? thanks- joe

Any ideas guys? I am running the computer now, I just would like to see if anyone has a clue about what actually happened with it.

It only works in the first slot? Any stick?

How many total sticks of RAM do you have? (4 x 512MB?)

2 sticks at 1 gig a piece. It is OCZ ram.

I can only use one in dimm one. Two wont work. any one will work though, it doesn't matter which
