I belong to a ''HOMIE'' web site. Of late we have been inundated with spammers, who register and then start down loading links to porn sites etc. Our funds are limited. Is there any freebie software available to block these people. They also send to personal emails the same rubbish. It is a family site and children log in. As a consequence to this invasion we are losing members, as you will agree, we do not require this trash.. Any help will be appreciated.

What kind of software handles the registrations?

Does it require confirmation before allowing posting?

Does it have or is it running a CAPTCHA?

Does it support IP banning? Email address/domain banning?
