I am changing the board of one of my desktop. I am using a D845GERG2 D845PECE E210882 Intel Desktop Board the board works ok it has on board video. I tried to upgrade to Aeolus FX5200-DV128 VGA Card but once I put the card on the agp slot I get no video. The little light of the monitor which is yellow when no data is being received turns green when tha card is on the boarad but no video is displayed. I test the board with another video card Mad Dog Multimedia FX 5200 plus 128mb and this one displays the image on the monitor. Does this means the Aeolus is deffective? ( I ask because I find strange that the light turns green and does not stays yellow in color so at least this means tha SOME information is being send). Your help will be appreciated my friends. Thank you
Does the fan spin on the Aeolus FX 5200 when its put in the agp slot?

Yes the fan does spin when in the slot
Usually when a video card is snapped in its slot (agp or pci-E) it disables the onboard automatically. But that system you are working on sounds a bit older. Perhaps there is a bios setting to DISABLE onboard video, there could be a conflict because of this.

Once I insert the MAD DOG card it automatically disables the on board video, I think the AEOLUS if good should do the same.

"once I put the card on the agp slot I get no video"
Does the POST normally sound the single short beep when it completes, and then you get a display on the monitor?
Or...
Where does the beep normally sound relative to the initialization of the video card?
HOWEVER...
With the Aeolus card in place, do you, or do you not, still hear the single short beep of the POST completing?
Or do you think the POST fails to complete when the new card is in place?
Does the POST even begin with the new card in place?
To find out, you could remove all RAM and run Startup; then if POST runs, tests, warns, you should hear the warning beeps of the failure of the 1st RAM test.
Then you'd know the POST gets at least that far, and aught to go on to attempt to initialize the video card, but might fail/halt in some activity after the 1st RAM test, and before or at video card initialization.
Video card initialization might fail because one or more BIOS configuration settings make it impossible to SAFELY initialize the card, so the BIOS halts.
e.g You may need to FORCE UPDATE THE ESCD with the new card in place.
This would make the BIOS make new non-conflicting resource allocations suitable for the needs of the card.
Since you cannot see to go into the BIOS Setup...
The only way to reset the ESCD would [I think] be to RESET THE BIOS after fitting the new card.
Or am I totally wrong here?

There is no beep. When I put the mad dog agp card on the slot it automatically disable onboard video and I get normal video on the monitor. When I use the aeolus there is still no beep and there is no video. The only only thing that happens is that the yellow light from the monitor becomes green but no image is displayed. Well I will have to look how to reset the bios as you suggest. Would you say that the green light in the monitor is a "good" sign?
Thank you
99.99% chance you are going through all of this for a dead card...try the problem card in a different machine. If it doesn't work in that machine drop it off a bridge...

you aught to try to get the internal speaker working.
And go into the BIOS Setup [with the working card in place] to check if you can see any configuration settings that would unsuited to the aeolus card.
